Garridos

My wife and i and a friend visited Garrido's for lunch yesterday and i have to tell you that i loved it. I had the shrimp cocktail appetizer (very good) , a cup of their tortilla soup (also very good) and the Two taco plate. I chose the coffee marinated Ribeye steak taco and the shrimp taco. Both were delicious. My plate included rice and beans and i chose the borracho beans. I recommend the borracho beans over the refried beans. the refried beans had some strange spice, either anise, tarragon or basil? not sure but it gave the beans a licorice taste to them. The highlight of the meal was the Patron XO tres leches cake. It has to be one of the best tres leches cake i've ever had and i've had many. While i have had many of the traditional tres leches cakes, i had not had a chocolate one. If you like chocolate and tres leches, you have to try this one... well worth the trip...
